OS Land-Form Panorama - ContourMap

ContourMap

ContourMap is derived from the Ordnance Survey Land-Form PANORAMA dataset, covering GB (not including the Isle of Man). It consists of a set of seamless contour regions constructed from TerrainMap (Land-Form PANORAMA DTM). There is also a set of spot heights in the form of points.

Application:

  • Insurance risk
  • Wind farm planning
  • Line-of-sight analysis
  • Floodplain mapping
  • Manipulate a 3D view of the land surface interactively, using the mouse.
  • Shade the contour polygons to create a map tinted according to elevation.
  • Analyse points such as insurance risks to check their height about sea level.

Features:

  • ContourMap regions at 10m intervals supplied in 20km x 20km tiles (based on the OSGB grid)
  • ContourMap can be supplied as ‘doughnut’ regions, bounded by an upper or lower contour of height - much more useful than the ‘broken’ contour lines in the Ordnance Survey dataset
  • A workspace (for use in MapInfo Professional) or project file (for use in ESRI ArcView/GIS) is supplied
  • The British National Grid co-ordinate system is used

Compatibility:

  • Fits closely with contextual OS 1:50,000 Scale Colour Raster (RangerMap) product

Scales on screen:

  • 1:200,000 to 1:20,000

Storage:

  • 30GB for full GB coverage in MapInfo TAB format

Formats:

  • MapInfo TAB, ESRI SHP, AutoCAD DXF, Illustrator EPS and others

Licence fees:

  • Payable annually, including one update per year

Coverage:

  • Great Britain, or selected area or tile combination (priced per sq km or tile)

Alternative coverage:

  • Northern Ireland companion product derived from the Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland Contour dataset (ContourMap OSNI)

  • 1:1,000,000 to 1:100,000

Storage:

  • 20GB for full GB coverage in MapInfo TAB format

Formats:

  • MapInfo TAB, ESRI SHP, AutoCAD DXF, Illustrator EPS and others

Licence fees:

  • Payable annually including one update per year

Coverage:

  • Great Britain, selected area (priced per sq km) or combination of tiles (priced per 20sq km tile)

Alternative coverage:

  • Northern Ireland companion product derived from the Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland Standard DTM dataset (TerrainMap OSNI)

OSNI-ContourMap

ContourMap OSNI is derived from the Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI) 1:50,000 Terrain dataset. It consists of a set of contour lines covering Northern Ireland. There is also a set of spot heights in the form of points.

Application:

  • Insurance risk
  • Line-of-sight analysis
  • Floodplain mapping
  • Manipulate a 3D view of the land surface interactively, using the mouse.
  • Shade the contour polygons to create a map tinted according to elevation.
  • Analyse points to check their height above sea level.
