Cyngor Gwynedd Council needed a solution that would allow its call centre team to quickly provide answers to students about their eligibility for bus and train passes.
The Council were currently investigating the eligibility of students to claim a travel pass on a case-by-case basis, using manual methods. This meant that the process was slow and resource-hungry, with staff spending a lot of time investigating eligibility before reaching a decision.
The Miso team used FME’s leading spatial data capabilities to provide a time-saving solution. The completed workspace was able to work out which of the Council’s catchment areas the customer’s home address fell into, and the distance between that address and the relevant facilities.
Once complete, the solution provided the answer to whether or not the applicant was eligible for a bus pass, a taxi to the closest bus stop, or a train ticket. All at the click of a button.
