Why we’re replacing the FME World Tour with hundreds of Advanced Technology Labs

In the past we’ve run some of the best FME World Tour events but, In 2026, we’re not hosting a World Tour, we’re running HUNDREDS of their replacement instead – Advanced Technology Labs.

FME has fundamentally changed

Over the past few years, FME has fundamentally transformed into an enterprise data platform. From scalable cloud engines to no-code data virtualisation, the platform’s capability has exploded.

That pace of change means general presentations just skim the surface of what’s possible. What you actually need is an in-depth personalised look at these advancements so you can figure out how you can best take advantage of them.

Instead of ONE World Tour We’re Running HUNDREDS

In 2026, we’re launching Advanced Technology Labs. These are free, in-person, half-day sessions held in your offices, or one of your neighbours, and led by one of Miso’s FME specialists.

Each Lab focuses on a key area of how you can use FME, bringing your key stakeholders together for an in-depth whiteboarding session to help you understand how FME fits into your setup and how to get the most out of it.

These Labs build on the success of our grass-roots Knowledge Sharing Hubs, which have already connected hundreds of local authority professionals across the UK to tackle shared data challenges.

The First in the Series: The Deployment Lab

We’ll be launching a suite of Labs throughout the year but we’re starting with one of the most important areas — deployment. The Deployment Lab focuses on architecting an enterprise-grade FME setup in cloud/premises/hybrid environments. Through a mix of walkthroughs and whiteboarding, we’ll explore:

  • Architecting FME for modern cloud-centric environments
  • Designing and licensing hybrid deployments
  • When and where to leverage Pay-As-You-Go licensing
  • Why and when to use the different types of Engines
  • Orchestrating FME with tools like Azure Event Grids and autoscaling
  • No-code data virtualisation
  • How these options could be deployed for your environment

By the end of the Lab, you’ll have a new understanding of how you can build a distributed, scalable FME environment that’s ready for the future, and understand how to unlock far more from your existing investment.

Coming Soon

Throughout 2026, we’ll be rolling out more Labs designed to help you unlock FME’s full potential:

  • Data Sharing and Publishing Lab focuses on publishing, sharing and driving value from data using Flow Apps, Remote Engines and internal APIs.
  • Automations Lab helps teams move away from manual workspaces to build scalable, event-driven data pipelines that integrate with operational systems in real time.
  • Data Virtualisation Lab shows how to move beyond project-by-project integration and build a single, connected view of your data across all systems.
  • Product Lab brings procurement and product owners into the conversation to align licensing, cost and long-term adoption.
