Safe Software has now shifted to a subscription-based model for their FME software due to the growing demand for data flexibility. Perpetual licenses are comparable to owning a house, while subscriptions are like renting. Subscriptions offer lower upfront costs, faster deployment, an agile approach to license selection, access to development and test licenses, and better value for money. While perpetual licenses are still available, the subscription option appears to be the more sensible choice for FME users. Contact the miso team for more information on FME subscriptions.
